Air compressor

has anyone used this? Is is worth buying? I've used multiple things from harbor freight and some are great but some not so much. I want something for putting air back in tires after air down. If no good which do you recommend that isn't crazy expensive? Tia

 

0.88CFM is pretty damn slow...

look into the smittybilt compressor. it's decently priced up here in Canada $124 ish, and is fairly fast...I think around 2.4cfm

Yes there are. If you want to go expensive. Go the co2 route. It's faster but you gave to have a tank and refill said tank once in a while. I believe it's called on board air, they are a vender here. Check the vender list.

 

air compressor is something not to skimp on. the best way to learn that is driving home a hundred miles with 5 psi

viair (for stand-alone units) and arb (for on-board) are my favorites.

 

I think the one from Amazon list on post #5 would be a better deal for only about $15 more. That's the one I plan to get when my very old $20 Walmart special stop working. It's probably slower than the one at Harbr Freight. Of course these small compressors can be several hundreds of dollars. But even my POS will get me enough pressure, just takes a little longer.

I just roll mine up neatly and stick behind the large rear seat cubby.

I'd go viair, nothing but good things to say about them.

 

I used this harbor freight ...little guy as temporary solution for a trip to pismo for airing down and from 17 to 35 psi it was a little slow and definitely got hot ....but nothing crazy ....couple minutes a tire . Was worth it until I get the balls to wire up some switches for an arb onboard @granitemetaltaco

 

How's the movement and rattle in the location you're storing? There's some plastic parts I wouldn't want to be rubbing every time I drive my vehicle. Also, how's the back plastic cubby area looking after being in there for awhile? I have mine in the same location but in a cheap Husky bag to protect the plastic cubby and compressor. Maybe I'll return my bag.
