so i just wanted to rant about some shit that got under my skin a little too much. apparently trend micro (anti-virus software u use on yur computer to protect it from sypware/viruses.... in case u didnt know or werent familiar with this company) tried to renew my subscription thru one of my bank accounts that has been frozen for a while.

i dont pay attention to any emails they normally send, but i got one that said:

    Dear Kristie,

We attempted to automatically renew your subscription, but could not
process your credit card. As a result, your subscription has not been
    renewed .
To stay protected against current and future threats Click here to
Renew. Renew today and receive a 10% discount by entering the following
coupon code in the cart: save10ARFN.
Don't give hackers and identity thieves a chance, it only takes 5
    minutes to extend your protection.

    Sincerely,
    Your Trend Micro Team

WHAT I SENT THEM IN REPLY:

i do not want to renew.

    AND THEIR REPLY:

    Dear Kristie,
Thank you for contacting the Trend Micro Online Store.
Per your request, we have cancelled the automatic renewal service for
order number XXXXXXXXX. You may receive an additional email confirming
that this service has been terminated.

When your current subscription expires, it will not be automatically
renewed and you will not be billed.

So I then i get ANOTHER f*ckin email:

    Greetings KRISTIE,
We wanted to let you know we are having difficulty processing your
order. If you have not received your license key(s), your order has not
been completed successfully. We value your business and wish for you to
return in order to successfully complete your purchase.
To resolve the issue, please come back to the Trend Micro portal page
and re-select the product you wish to order. You may want to pay special
attention to the payment information in your order to confirm it is
correct and current - or perhaps use an alternate credit card.
Please disregard this message if you feel it is in error.
Thank you for shopping at Trend Micro.

    MY REPLY:

As i have stated before, i do not want to renew my subscription. please
remove me from your mailing list as well.

    thanks

THEN I SENT THIS AS A REPLY WITH FONT SIZE SET TO THE LARGEST MOST BOLD FONT MY EMAIL WOULD ALLOW:

Is it at all possible that TREND MICRO can quit sending me newsletters or emails about my subscription/cancellation/renewal???

Yes, I KNOW that my subscription has expired... Yes, I KNOW that my computer is not "safe" from viruses & spyware.

Im getting tired of seeing these emails from your company about my subscription expiring. Makes me think about my customers' that mention my competitors' salespeople & their 3rd party vendors that call every single day & have nothing better to do than to harass them. I do not like opening up my personal email every day and seeing something from TREND MICRO about how my subscription has expired or how I am not protected & how you tried to automatically renew & you couldn't get paid.

I have asked to be removed from the emailing list prior to this email. Does anyone actually do this per customer request?? Tell me what it will take to notreceive another email or newsletter from TREND MICRO again. If & when I decide to use TREND MICRO for my personal computer to be protected I will do so at my leisure.
    Thanks

Does anyone ever get crap like this??? im so sick & f*ckin tired of these dam newsletters. what do they not understand when i say to remove me from their emailing/mailing lists???? i freakin CC'd all the email addresses i could find from all the trend micro newsletters/emails i could find i had dating back to 2007!!

if they dont get a clue from my most recent reply i dont know what else to do.

actually right after i sent that reply i got this dam email reply in which i turned right back around and resent the last reply quoted above to them as it was a differnet reply address:

Do a Google search for AVG Free. They offer a free version of their software for personal (i.e. not for businesses or colleges) use that works great. I've been using it on my wifes PC for years with no issues.

    Cheers.

yeah, my computer seemed like it slowed down a hell of a lot more once i started using them. my personal computer now tweets like a bird when it starts up for the first 10-15mn. completely wiped out everything on it and it runs even slower.

i will definetly look into another solution should i decide to continue using protection for my personal computer. i would much rather just go buy a new computer at like best buy bc they are cheap as hell and have way more memory than my old one i paid a shitload for thats outdated on everything. plus it has windows xp on it and i HATE HATE HATE IT!!!! the new ones have windows 7 on them and i have not heard anything bad about that software as of yet.

NRA is doing the same thing to me. I joined. i got a thank you email. then i started getting emails asking for money. i unsubscribed. i got emails telling me about upcoming events. i hit unsubscribe. i got emails about new decisions congress is making me that might affect me. i hit unsubcribe. i have unsubscribed at least a dozen times. i think that for every list i take myself off of, i am on another 50 email lists. no matter what i do i cannot stop getting emails from the NRA. that shit is annoying as hell
