Anyone know how to disable the Auto dimming on the JBL head unit? Every time I go under a over pass the head unit will dim and then go back to regular brightness. Drives me insane that it does this constantly.

    Working on it.
Your cell phone, iPad/tablet, etc, etc. do the same thing. You don't want max brightness in a dark environment. It is just doing what it should be doing.

I drove under a bunch of trees this morning and noticed the same thing--I don't have JBL but mine does the same thing. In my wifes Prius I was able to find the dimming sensitivity in the settings but on my drive this morning I couldn't find it in the Taco

I haven't messed with it enough to find it yet, but I know there should be a setting similar to the Prius---it has to do with auto sensitivity of headlights but I imagine its the same settings...

There's a "Daylight Mode" option in the screen settings. Keeps the screen brightness up and won't dim when you turn your lights on during the day. I'd imagine this might solve the problem you mention as well.

Seems to me, daylight mode is grayed out unless the light sensor thinks it is dark outside.
