Hey y'all thanks for having me,

I'm looking to make the switch to a truck and with my budget, I found this 06 sr5 4x4 with 146k miles. Dealer wants $14,500 but they want me to pay all fees and I was going to pay the entire truck off on site. Ideally I'd like to pay less than this.

I'm 21 years old and would need this truck to last another 7-10 years. Assuming proper maintenance was done on a regular basis, are there are major things to look out for with this particular year and model? (Sorry if it's been asked a million times, couldn't find exactly what I needed to hear)

    Here's the vin: 5TELU42N86Z213899

Welcome to TW. Frame rust. Check to see if the frame has been replaced if it is from the northeast.

If everything checks out and you like the truck, GET IT! In my area (PNW) that's a good price.

Tell them $14,500 out the door price,if they say no then start walking out the door and see what happens from there, they may or may not agree when you start walking away, you are the buyer so you control whether the truck sells or not.First do a complete check of the condition of the truck.

I just bought my '07 Access Cab TRD Off Road, v6 automatic , the frame was replaced , rear leaf springs and hardware , lower control arms, tires had 11k on them . The truck had 80,541 miles on it with clean car fax and maintance records and I got mine for 13,699 (13,500 for truck and 199 for dealer fees ) just for comparison
