Long story short I was ditched when we were wiring my off road lights now I'm left with dangling wires and supplies and I don't know what to do. Raises take it to a shop. I'd like to try my hand at it before I do that. I read the off-road light wording write up and I still have questions. I was going to use the wiring harness for the front light bar but it turns out to be set up for two lights if I just use one is that going to cause a problem?

It sounds like your light bar has one connector, while the wiring harness has two. You might have the wrong harness for your light. I would contact the company you bought it from. I know my Cali Raised pods have 2 connectors and their light bars only have 1.

I can't help as far as installing using only one of the two connectors.

Well that's no fun followed the wiring harness instruction to a T and almost burned down my truck. :( now I have a burned hand but my Taco is safe. God I hate living in an area that does not have shops to do this crap. Feeling totally defeated.

Every setback is an opportunity. Make sure you were sent the correct wiring harness. Start again once you know.

Hard to tell looking at the pic but is it there a relay in the harness? If so, then your switch in the cab will connect to either #85 or 86 with the other connecting to ground. That will turn the relay on.
The feed for the lights themselves will connect to#30 on the relay and the light to#87.

How many ways is the light? 120 watts is 10 amps. 60 watts, 5 amps. Just throwing that out there to help you size the fuse correctly.

Do you have a volt tester? If not I would recommend starting off here. I went crazy trying to figure out the wiring for a mirror that kept blowing the ecu fuse. Once I figured when power was fed to each wire example ignition power on/off, power on when placed in reverse ect it made the job easier. Hope it helps

Ok, put my glasses on and zoomed in a bit. Looks like a harness with some extra wire and a fuse holder.
If you connect everything together, I suspect that you'll have 3 wires that have to go somewhere. A fat red, fat black, and one other small wire. The small wire connects to your switch, the fat black to ground, and the fat red to the battery, with that fuse holder at the battery. Crimp a ring on one end of the fuse holder and a splice on the other. For the switch inside, either tap off of a switched wire such as the power socket or use an add a fuse on a switched fuse.
You mentioned an extra plug... It may be for a second light if the light plugs into both.

It's the switch that seemed to be the problem. Change the switch and it's been fine since. I used the wiring harness with the two leads for my back up lights. I'm rigging up a blue sea fuse box tomorrow and putting the switches in the cab. :)

Here's the bracket I made today. I still have to wire in the lights and paint the bracket. Just had it mocked up to check my switches and relays.

Thanks. I'm going to jump he relay grounds and inside the cab jump those switches so I have to pull less into the cab. Ran out of day light today but with everyone's helps it's coming along.

That bracket made of aluminum? If so, use a self etching primer otherwise the paint won't stick very well.

16 g sheet metal, not aluminum I got it to weld up a bracket but then figures I could bend it instead.

I have an 06, and I have these 2 holes next to the fuse box that would take a bolt, do you?
    IMG_20170605_142531.jpg

There's a nice lip under those holes and would be perfect for bending up a bracket that cantilevers on that lip. Then you will not need a support on the end closest to the engine.
... Just spent a few minutes trying in vain to draw this picture in my head for you as to what it would look like. Not gonna happen. Lol. I would lay it out on the sheet metal something like this though..
    IMG_20170605_150358.jpg
I would make those bent down sides about an inch and the bent up about 6"wide x 3"tall. Then you got 3" to play with under that lip. Trim that back enough to get the Bent up piece up against the wall with the bolt holes.
    I hope that makes sense.:)

    Here's what I did.

    Here is the leg.

I used the bolt for the breathers to hold the leg. The whole piece stayed solid and is sturdy! super easy to do.
