    Alright TW folk...

my friend is building these currently for XJ jeeps. I hatched the idea to have them built for our trucks... either back windows/doors/back glass... more aimed toward the access cab guys or the DC that aren't daily driven with people in the back seats. He originally made them for his dogs so that he could keep the windows down on the trail and the dogs wouldn't junp or fall out of the jeep. My question to you guys is:

How many would be interested in something like this?

Who Would be interested in submitting ideas for our trucks? Looking for 4 guinea pigs who will most likely get a little discount can not say for sure but I can finagle it in there.

What would you pay for something like this? Current model for the XJ is selling for 130 shipped

His current options for the XJ is as follows.

Currently come RAW 1/8th inch american steel and can be made with thicker material upon request for a different price.

Currently in the works is a color match option/paint option.

would be made to fit exactly to the vehicle, minimal drilling required,

would include any hardware needed all stainless steel quality stuff not home depot junk,

full color PDF instructions and if wanted we could make them heavier gauge steel so they can really hold weight

all welds ground smooth and seamless, no sharp edges etc

Once him and I link up Monday 29 May 2017 and get measurements and make and install them we will be taking a GB of 7-10 guys to "jumpstar" business so we can possibly start selling them regularly if there is interest. Currently itd be for the access cab side doors or just the side windows and the back glass. The double cab models will be in the works soon as well

I like the ideal of this but for me I dont care for the execution. I have been thinking of something similar for my DC that involves no drilling and can be installed/uninstalled in a matter of seconds. It may not be as strong or able to support the same weight but it would do enough to keep a dog from jumping out the window.

Oh oh. I'm in. I'm a 3rd Gen DC. And the rear windows is a power slider. Let me know what I need to do.

Understood. For me its not actually about keeping a dog in its gaining more ORGANIZED storage.

I've thought of doing something similar for the back window, but like the other guy said, something more polished.

We are totally open to suggestions. Could you possibly describe what it is you are looking for? Something that slides into the window track? Something that just hooks and hangs on?
    Storage? No storage?

Please no idea is a bad one and no thought would go unnoted

Yes. I feel the same way. Great idea. I seen this done bit it was for behind the rear seats. This looks easier to get to. But the ones behind the seats were clean and polished. But I like this idea

We can EASILY make them clean and polised. We have access to a sand blaster and a paint booth to clear coat the steel.

Inside to also keep the contents of the topper secure.

My screens got destroyed years ago for those windows so with dogs back there these could be perfect. I would also think it could be cool if the slider window on the topper was open and these metal things were mounted inside the topper you could mount rotopax on the outside of the topper. If that makes sense.

Someone on here home made a rack with a topper but no idea who. All I'm trying to describe is a way to put a rotopax can where the window is located. Right now only glass can't mount to that. Make more sense.
