AutoAnything lost a customer

    I've order from them a few times in the past. Recently both my father in law and my self bought new tacomas. I got my order last week and he starts asking about parts, so I order some stuff for him.
    Undercover tonnoue - canceled because they can't ship to me. Understandable we live in Hawaii.
    Front and rear seat covers - charged shipping for both sets?
    Step bars - paid for FedEx 2nd day air and it's coming ground.

    The only shipping options they offer to us in Hawaii are either next day of 2nd day air.
    I never catch them online but was able to today...sorta.

    I had issues with a seat cover order, and they asked me to call too. I think it's just the way the customer service is set up. I called the number, treated the rep like a human being, and they fixed everything on their buck. If you do the same, they'll likely do the same.

    Not afraid to talk to anyone. But I'm usually pretty busy during the day. By the time I do get a chance to do my own thing they are normally closed. Hawaii is 3-4hrs behind west coast. I tried looking for a "contact us" or something else on the site. None that I could find for customer service.

    As for ground shipping, yes they throw it on an actual ship. It can take weeks to get here. The person I talked to today, said it should of gone 2nd day.

    Seat covers apparently come in two boxes...so I have to pay twice, I guess? Then again the stepbars are being shipped in two boxes also. But that's a different story.

    So I tried again today. Chatted with another person and he said that the chat live, is more for sales not customer service. That was his excuse for Em E disconnecting on me. He did give me a number to call which I will do tomorrow, as they are closed already. He said when I talk to them to bring up the shipping and they should reimburse me the difference.

    yeah, I feel you on chat sessions that some places offer but don't explain what the chat sessions can/can't do. I also had to call in cuz chat sucks.

    I find I usually get the best prices and much better customer service just calling in the first time, since the techs are usually paid to be there only because they know more than the average customer. Companies will be more willing to offer special pricing in that case. Got my Fox 2.5s for almost 500$ off purchase price by calling ORW and talking to John for a while.

    Step bars are sold as a set. Seat covers are sold separately front from rear. That is the shipping difference.
    I feel you on having time. I work 12hr shifts and seldom have access to my phone or am able to use it. I have had good experiences using chat (exception was Dell) and you get a nice transcript. I agree with the above that their chat vs phone arrangement dictates what they can do. Sounds like the only real issue is the 'ground shipping'. I have also experienced issues with websites not recognizing when a product can or cannot be shipped a certain way. That may be what happened here.
    I have only purchased two items through AutoAnything (an ARB awning and a Switch Pro SP8100) and have had a good experience both times.
    Don't give up on them for a couple of minor issues. Those 20% codes are really nice!
    I hope you find a way to get the Sounds like the only real issue is the 'ground shipping'.
