    This may be a REALLY dumb question....but what do you need the antenna and other stuff for if its a hand held unit?

    Im new to all this, so go easy on me lol

    I'm new to CB radios too. The battery pack and portable antenna can be removed and there is a vehicle charger / antenna connection.

    So I'm going to set it up on the truck with a firestick. It makes for a simple rig up, which i need in this little rig. I also wanted the weather radio feature, and to be able to toss it in a dry bag with the handheld gear when I go kayaking. It'll serve more than one purpose for me.

    Antenna is mounted and the cable is ran to the cab. Going to build a ground wire tomorrow and get away from town for a bit to tune.
