The 2nd and 3rd Gens are a different design, on 1st Gen the little plastic horseshoe bushing would break and the spring made direct metal to metal contact. The new pedals are plastic and have several pivot points.

Had the same squeaky pedal on mine. Lubed it with all kinds of greases until I gave up and brought it to the dealer.

Now it's like a new truck with a new clutch. Very smooth, no noises.

This is what was done per the report:

REPLACED CLUTCH PEDAL WITH CLUTCH MASTER CYL AND SUPPLY HOSE GREASE 5 POINTS OF MOVEMENT ~|~C/S SQUEEK FROM CLUTCH PEDAL//PARTS IN ~|~C-C/S CLUTCH PEDAL SQUEEK,C-PEDAL AND BRACKET NOT ALIGNED CAUSING SQUEEK, R R&R PEDAL, CLUTCH MASTER AND SUPPLY HOSE WITH NEW FLUID

Thanks for sharing, let us know how long this lasts. Now that's it's warmer I haven't had any issues, but once fall comes I am sure it will be back.

Interesting that yours quiets down. Mine is noticeable in the cold but mind numbingly bad if the inside of the truck is really hot.

Same here...was not as bad in the winter, but once the heater got hot, the squeak was bad. Much worse now that it is warm out. I just had the clutch fixed last week. We'll see how long it lasts. But for now, it's like a new truck! I'm diggin it.

Same here, all my Tacoma's did it in the Heat, that was why I ended up using Disc Brake Grease to lube all the pivot points as it is able to withstand high temps.

I've got the creek too. Showed up about a thousand miles ago, around 20k. I've Been spraying silicone on the master cylinder push rod roughly every 6mo to keep it quiet but this time it's from the clutch fork. Do u guys see a problem with not doing anything about it? I don't really mind it and it reminds me of old beater trucks I had that squeeked from everywhere. Otherwise I'll just grease it when I need a new clutch with redline cv2. Great water washout. it's also a very thick and tackey grease with a very high dropping point. I think 850F or 950F. It's a calcium sulfonate thickener instead of lithium so make sure you clean the surfaced well because they are incompatible bases.

Under 7k miles, my clutch pedal should not be making any noise, let alone when it was under 5k. I made a call to yota Corp to make sure they had record. Finding time to get into the dealership and it making noise has not been easy recently.

Subbing - I am at ~5k and the clutch pedal squeaks in warmer temps (I think it becomes noticeable above 75-80F); I only started hearing it the last week or 2. I may try the disc brake grease if the dealership doesn't come up with anything.

Mine squeaks when it's hot. I'm not really bothered by it though to be honest.

Why is it some folks get the squeak in the warmer temps, while others are cold?

My Tacoma`s always did it in the heat, my assumption is that the factory grease melts during high Temps and that's why Disc Brake Grease cured the problem. Maybe the guys with noise when cold have a different issue.

So after getting the stuck gear thing fixed clutch is now squeaky...I dont mind enough to hassle with dealer again. You are just sticking with disc brake lube and so far so good?

Yes, disc brake grease worked on my 2nd Gen and my 3rd Gen, usually takes 2 applications with a long Qtip.

I have two noises. One is like a groan that I get coming off the pedal from a start or 1-2 shift since I'm a little slower to come off on those transitions. Other is more of a creak/squeak that happens when parked but way less frequently. I brought it up at 5k service but of course it wasn't doing it that day but they greased the pedal, 10k brought it up again but wasn't doing it that day either and they didnt want to regrease, 15k service I had video of if and they were supposed to be opening a case with toyota. It's been over a month and I still cant get the dealer to call me back with the remedy (granted I've been busy and haven't been able to pester them like I should) but for 20k service I will be going to a different dealer. I read about all these other issues the people are having with the 3rd gen and consider myself lucky since this is literally the only thing that has been an issue but man is it an annoying issue to have
