Not sure if this is the best place (I'm still new here) - but I recently did a little review of a DiamondBack SE Cover, over on YouTube. Figured it might be of interest over here as well, since the 'host' truck is a 2016 Tacoma TRD Off Road dcsb.

If this should be moved somewhere else or deleted, feel free to do so!

I have had a DiamondBack cover for about a year and a half on a 2013 doublecab. I also got if for the security and flexibility. My cover is slightly different - the back half is the same as the one in the video but the front half as two "doors" the hinge in the center opening from the side.
I have had it off a couple of times, very easy to take off and put back on.

I have been looking at Diamondback as well. Plan to do a lot of traveling with my Taco and want a secure location for luggage, electronics, etc. From searching different manufacturers, the Diamondback looks to beat all others in security. I would go for the SE as well. Just have to save up the $1,400.00 cost. Did you have to cut any of the bedliner or rails to mount the "C" clamps for the center piece?

Loved mine on my white truck but no longer served my needs. I ended up posting it on here for months and months and months... after multiple price drops i ended up selling it for less than $400. To answer your question @CrankyOldFart on a 2nd gen no cutting was required but the bedrails make it sit high so you will have to remove the bed rail caps on the sides.

I've been crushing on these ever since I saw the video on YT as well. I currently have the factory cover on mine and it's been one disappointment after another. Most of my budget has gone to wheels, lift, sliders, etc. so far. Maybe in 2019? BTW - LOVE all the LLOD vids (even support Mike on Patreon). Great content. Keep it coming! - (from a fellow QC DCSB owner).

Great review. It seems in your videos that you upgraded from the SE to the HD. Any particular reason?

I think he just added more cleats to the SE.

In 1 of his other vids it showed the underside of the cover with some gear bungeed in between the support ridges that the SE doesn’t have but the HD does

The SE has support ridges, just not as many as the HD.

I know. They were the ones from the hd. Real close together. The se has them further apart. And in the video he even says that he can load a 4 wheeler on it if he didn’t have the racks. This pic is from the vid. That is a hd

Okay, I was just thinking it was still an SE because he'd mentioned adding more cleats in another video.

No I'm interested; which video is that?

Probably due to mounting a tent, dog, gf, etc... weight adds up ~700-800 lbs. I opted for the SE because I have dozens of good tents already, and there have always been more cases where I camped a few hundred feet from my truck for a better view then right where I parked it... Happens to also save me a couple hundred on the cover, and 3k on a roof top tent. New gun? ;)
