Gas cap

I'm trying to get a gas cap with a key lock. All that's available right now is for a 2016 I have a 2017 . Does anyone know if the 2016 model gas cap will fit on the 2017 model? Thank you

 

The gas cap will fit a 2017 if it fits a 2016. Be careful as cheap locking caps that dont seal properly can set off check engine codes. Also it is almost impossible to siphon gas from these trucks. The only reason to buy a locking cap is to prevent someone from putting something unwanted into your tank. If that is the case then get one. If your truck shows a CEL+Trac off lights shortly thereafter you will at least know why now.

 

Awesome thanks that's my main issue is someone possibly putting something in my tank. A little paranoid. I always had a cable from inside my car. My pops still has a 1995 Tacoma and even that has a key on the door. Can't believe they left that out you know

I just went to advanced autoparts and picked up the car quest model for a 2016 and it fit perfectly on my 2017...
