I bought a used 2008 tacoma that has the 115V/400 watt deck mounted power point. I mounted a slide in camper so the power outlet is no longer accessible. Where is the inverter located? Is it in the deck mount or under the hood by the alternator? I am wondering if it could somehow be re-wired inside the truck so I can charge electronic devices while running the engine. Alternative is to buy a cheap inverter that plugs into the cigarette lighter.

    It's under your center console

MT stuff, RTT stuff, the usual.
It's under your console as stated above.

    What I did:
    -400w anytime mod
-add an outlet inside the cab, while retaining outlet in the bed.

You can't squeeze a flat head extension cord in there?

I initially hardwired a Bestek 400-watt inverter to my battery, then installed a 2nd battery and have it connected to that with an 80-watt solenoid relay. What I like about this inverter is it has 4 USB ports that have power without having to turn on the inverter.

It is out of place. But, it's functional and doesn't get in the way. Opening the rear seat was my biggest concern, but it just clears it.

Added this for the front passenger. Cover pops out easy from the rear, going through the glove compartment.

I tapped into mine using the thread mentioned above. Also did the 400w anytime mod while the console was out.
