Well ya gotta pay for the lift some how, and better yet, your guna need new tires cuz it will look funny with 31's, then you need armor and with the added weight your guna need the tundra upgrade, then lights, regearing, other mods it never ends!

Good luck with the install! Don't forget to update us with pics!

Yes, you will need longer ubolts. I've linked Wheelers Off-road. Simply select desired length. The stock ones were just barely long enough to engage the nuts, and I believe mine are 7.75". I'm running stock bumps, so that makes a difference on the height. If you have bumpstops bolted to the frame, I would still recommend new ubolts, as the stock ones will be stretched and stressed. Cheap insurance, IMO.

Regarding AAL placement, just find the leaf on the Dakars that is slightly longer than the aal, and the one slightly shorter, and that's where it goes. Easy as pie. If I remember right, it should be below the second (from the top) making it the third leaf in the pack.

Good luck  Edit: also, the square end of the AAL goes forward, and the beveled/rounded end does to the rear. While you have the leaf pack out, be sure that the "higher spec" labeled leaf is on the drivers side, and the lower is on the passenger. Below is a link for the proper AAL for 98-04 tacomas

Ok. I got some that have 50k on them. But the owner said they are fine. I might run them for awhile and see what happens.

Yeah. I'm wondering what to do. I have a set that are used on my truck as well. But they have less miles on them. I might swap the coils to the other set of nitros then.

I just installed the the Full OME kit offered by Wheelers and realized it did not come with a brake proportioning valve relocation bracket. Is it not really needed? I can't see them not including a cheap $15 bracket if it was needed?

Finally got the lift on. Toytec sent the wrong nitros for the back. Sent second gen ones. Will get more pics soon.

So after about a month & a half and maybe 5k miles my inner CV boots have torn close to the clamp (Noticed last night after I heard a noise). I didn't do the boot slide mod on these, also am running no extra weight up front yet. Was planning to do an ARB bumper within time. So at this point, is it safe to drive? I'll most likely replace both with CVJ axles and keep both OE axles and reboot them. Any input is appreciated, thanks guys.

This is my story exactly. I put OME 883 (I think) with a stock bumper. My CV's tore and I eventually replaced them with CVJ's and added a ARB bumper recently.

To answer your question I drove with the torn CV's for about 15000 miles. I didn't really care about them as they were going back to CVJ for the core charge.

I should add I did a lot of wheeling with the torn CV boots. However, I do carry a spare CV with me.

    Edit: Changed 882 to 883
    • OME 880: Stock front weight.1.5 inch lift.
    • OME 881: Stock front weight. 2-2.5 inch lift. Add Top Plate Spacers for full 3 inch
    • OME 883: 200 + lbs additional front weight (heavy bumper and winch) 2.5- 3 inch Lift

There it is. Finally. Next mod is a tube bumper up front and painting fender flares. 883 coils and AAL. A lot of help was due to this website. Thanks to all.

I finished the install last week, didn't have to cut anything. Every nut came off easily. I will add there is no rust anywhere on my frame or suspension though so I'm guessing that helped!

Are you having a lot more rubbing on one side of the well than the other?

I haven't really flexed farther than that since I haven't installed bump stops but it looks like it would hit the front side first.

FWI, I ended up having to trim both the front and rear of the well at the bottom even with the relocate plates. Tire is a 255/85/16 km2. The plates definitely help, but that tire is simply too big to fit in the well at absolute stuff. Not sure what size you have, but something to be aware of.

Currently running 285-75-16 - I'm also having some extreme driveline issues which seemed to have happened maybe 6k miles after installation of the lift. Possibly u-joint or carrier bearing...guess I'll have to start replacing parts.

Looking to get a bit more lift out of my front end. Ive got 883s with nitrochargers. Previously had 5100s and thinking of going back for the adjustability. What would you guys recommend? Hard to see in the pic but it defiantly has too much rake...
