So actual factual evidentiary proof doesn't make any difference....Only your random generalization theory does..... I see how this works....

Looks like I've stumbled in to the know it all's who get lousy gas mileage and want something to blame it on thread.

Fact of the matter is, I have a Tacoma 4X4 with a 3" lift, hybrid tires (cross between A/T and M/T) and routinely get north of 21 mpg. There are others who have the same results. Some are obviously unable to comprehend such a fact. Their belief is, what they AREN'T CAPABLE OF UNDERSTANDING must be wrong.

You should open your mind up to new thoughts and ideas instead of living in a box.

I am getting 19 running highway back and forth to work. I run 65-75. This is with 265/75/16 ST Maxxs in E loads. I was getting around 19 - 19.5 this time of year with the BFG 265/70/16 in Ds. In warmer weather I will get 20 - 20.5. I have yet to run the Maxx's with summer blend and warmer weather but based on my current readings the MPGs should not be too far off what they were last summer. I agree in theory with Bishop84 on more aggressive tires but I have been surprised by some. I ran a set of MTR E loads on my 2009 for 4-5 weeks and noticed very little drop in MPGs over the Rugged Trails that I replaced. Funny thing was when I replaced the MTRs with Duratracs in Cs my MPGs dropped slightly.

I've got a 2" lift, on an '05, running P rated Toyo AT 2's using M1 synthetic in motor, and drive train, and have registered 21-22 mpg a couple times last summer. Winter avg. has been 17-18 mpg. I do have upsized tires (265/70/17), and I'm not compensating for odometer error. Not sure if the upsized tires would cause it to register more or less miles, or how much the error would be.

Ive had 2 different tacomas with 2 different mpgs. First was a 2011 off-road AC manual and with 265/75-16 duratracs on procomps and I averaged 17-18 mpg consistently highway. I then bought a 2013 sport DCLB and transferred the wheels and tires from the 11 onto the 13. I consistently averaged 20-21.5 highway. Once the tires were worn my mileage began to drop to around 19 mpg.

These are normal highway speeds 65-75.

    20mpg + is a reality. This is the second v6/auto/4x4 Tacoma I've tracked on fuelly.com and I average 21.8 with 87 fillups - http://www.fuelly.com/car/toyota/tacoma/2015/sbussell/395292
OK, I am a grampa, but I drive 46 miles to work each way, 16mi back roads and 30mi highway at 70mph. It is possible. I've had 6 Tacomas, 3 4cyl and 3 v6.

Dont know how but I'm getting 17.5-18mpg average on city driving with 6" lift and 315's. Coming from my old ford on 33's this is an awesome change.
