I'd love to get out... been cranking on finishing up lots of projects on the truck and am itching to hit a trail... It will depend on what the kids want to do.

check out Little Deer Lake for a campsite. I stayed there a couple years ago. The trail to it is fun too.

So who knows about all the camping places near Eagle Lakes? I've only ever done a day trip to Eagle Lakes so I'm unfamiliar with the area and camping.

There is a rough (no shitters) camp site on Fordyce Lake, according to Google maps. Never been.

Hey all and @Nightstr I can't make Friday work. Damn. I'm trying to get out for Saturday night with my boys. Any suggestions for something fun 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 hours to trail head from Santa Rosa? We've been to cow mountain and that was fun but lacked views/lakes. I've got the 13 yr old interested and the 12 yr old thinking about it. Fordyce is certainly close... looking for some mild excitement so it feels like we've actually gotten somewhere. We live in west county so dirt roads don't impress these two. We need some rocks to bump over! Bonus points for awesome lakes and fire lookouts. ;) Help me hook these two!

    A little a this, a little a that...
I'm taking the family camping over Father's Day weekend at Humboldt Redwoods State Park. I've driven the Avenue of the Giants but not spent much time around there. Does anyone know of any good trails around there? Nothing too intense as I'll probably be the only one wheeling. Thanks In advance!
