lol I tried using plyers to unscrew it/pull it off and no luck so I cut it. It turned out ok, almost tempted to get another antenna that's new so I can pull it off and do it that way for a cleaner final product

I might have to do this, the auto store shorty antennas keep rusting their adapter thread things

I had to remove the paint and trim back the wire to get it to go back on. But it looks factory after a shot of black paint.

The "shorty" antennas from like cravenspeed that are 5" long suck, don't ever waste your money on em if you use your radio, just FYI. They look cool and that's all they do, zero reception in town or out of town. And ya the parts store shortys with adapters are cheap and rust. @ChadsPride found a 12" that looks like our factory ones on Amazon and he has no complaints from what I know, it looks good.

I only took off 7 inches and lost no reception. Thinking about going a little shorter to level with the roof line but not sure if i would be pressing my luck with reception.

I removed 10" but the ball is not making perfect contact with the antenna since I used epoxy to adhere it back (don't know if that affects it or not). I just popped it back on the truck today and I can give an update tomorrow after my morning commute. But chad stayed with his 12" he doesn't have an issue with reception so I think you might be ok

Thanks again @JdevTac for the info on the 3m adhesive, it's similar to what came from the factory that covered the predrilled roof holes but more industrial strength

I see some sort of T-Slot nut, you have an Amazon link? I live in Canada and I am having the hardest time trying to find these T-slot nuts to fit my bed rails.

After installing my @HeadStrong Off-Road lift, my antenna was striking the top of the garage door frame every time I parked. I removed the mast, found a small stainless steel machine screw to fill the hole, and bought one of these instead: http://www.tunetrapper.com/index.html I also needed a Metra antenna adapter. Shoved the whole thing up underneath the dash (plenty of other mounting options with more patience/interest/enthusiasm). Whole project took less than 30 minutes.

Truth be told I'm not much of a radio listener so I can't offer comparisons of old versus new, but I'm picking up stations and HD signals without issue.

I thought that the noise was from my tires, but then it got progressively louder.
Thanks Bill, AKA BamaToy1997 @ Marionbumper2bumper for the quick shipping and great product.

Getting ready to install a BakFlip G2 and a Pop & Lock tailgate lock in about a week or so. Has anyone come across any issues with the this lock and or tonneau cover?
