    Hello TacomaWorld,

Glad to be a part of this community although I'm not new to the Toyota family. I've owned many Toyotas including 1997 Tacoma 4x4 ext cab manual trans (My 1st vehicle), 2000 4Runner limited, 1999 4runner 4x4 manial SR5 (my longest owned vehicle and my favorite so far) and now 2011 Tacoma TRD 4X4.

This is an awesome truck that has a few things on it that makes me think that one of y'all may recognize it from Dallas / Ft. Worth, TX .....it started off as a lease vehicle in AZ, but made its way to Toyota of Plano in 2012. Most of service records indicate Toyota of Plano and Toyota of Richardson since... as of recent (4/28/2017) it's gotten new rear leaf springs replaced at Toyota of Richardson. That may be recall but I'm not for sure....

Also, it's got the tailgate hose calm so no one can steal it - something else that makes it recognizable is the tailgate has Prerunner emblems but yet it's 4x4 - yes it's positively a 4x4!!

I see a little button with LED lights that I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me what it may go to. Maybe lights or hidden power outlet, (it doesn't keep my rear camera going while in drive- one mod I will need to do). It seems the wires run to the fuse behind the little compartment under steering wheel. See photos. Any ideas..????

It's got newer 2015+ Toyota factory wheels and brand new BFG KO2's - 265/70R17 that I doubt any used car dealer would put on it. I purchased from Holiday Chevrolet in 5/21/17. They said it was a local trade-in but who knows.

Lastly, previous owner put in the stainless grill inserts. (Which I'll probably change to a mesh grill)

I'm glad I'm part of the community and look forward to many hours of "how to's" and tutorials from you guys. Any info y'all can provide will help.

Humm.. I didn't realize that remote start was an option in this model... I don't know how it works.

it isnt a factory installed remote start if thats what it even is, that would be an aftermarket add on

It's 4x4? Maybe the PO swapped the tailgate?

It's an aftermarket alarm system installed by southern dealers to grab more money from you.

Or maybe the PO had their tailgate stolen, hence now running the clamps. And they replaced it with whatever used factory white tailgate they could come across, which happened to be a Prerunner. I also run the hose clamp mod.
