Sweet. Baja Kits offered me a good deal on their +2 kit a while back. Never pulled the trigger.

Stay posted over the next few weeks. Probably won't be an update for a week and a half cause I'm heading back east next weekend.

I wanted a swing out tire gate, but also put motorcycles and atvs in the bed sometimes, where the tires overhang onto the tail gate. So I need it to swing down as well. Can't really have the tire gate open while driving down the road with the bike in the back and tailgate down. So this is my answer. Plus I will be able to suck the tire into the bed a little so it overhangs less so it doesn't drag while doing steeper rock crawling type stuff.

She's at least done enough to drive around on and be structurally sound. Just have a long list of little things to get done on it.

    IMG_6269.jpg IMG_6273.jpg IMG_6274.jpg

Gonna make my check list here so I don't forget what I still need to do.

    Cap open ends of tubes

    Mount bottle opener

    Mount hi-lift

    Make back-up camera mount

Make mount for factory tailgate cables for added support when dropped down

Decide on drop down table or not and either make it or just fill the back side with plate sonit can be a tailgate when dropped down.

Fuel can holder, though may wait and get different fuel/ water containers before making this.

    Paint tire carrier and bumper

    ??? I'm sure I'm forgetting something

Maybe look into that tailgate assist gas cylinder doohickey. Might help with the weight of the tire, cans, etc.

Thanks man. Yeah I'm strongly leaning towards it. It was part of the original design anyways. Just another little thing to figure out.

Almost like a redline hood strut but in reverse. Where instead of pushing it open it helps let it down gently

Yeah I found them thanks. Gonna email them and get their opinion on if they will be helpful. Figure the 60-70lb tire gate might just overpower them.

I'll just :muscleflexing:and get my lifting in. It will pretty much only be swung down when I have bikes in the back. So I may just live with it and see if I end up adding something down the line

No real picture worthy updates. But got the backup camera and chase lights mounted. And I finally have a freaking bottle opener built into my truck
