It was nice to have, I'd rather have more "easily accessible" space though. But it was still nice to have the shell.

    Whelp.

I'm a little frustrated with how it all turned out, if I'm being honest. I had all the cuts perfect the day before, but seeing how I couldn't lift the bumper myself and had no help, I couldn't test fit the bumper.

Well long story short, I was in a time crunch, and didn't want to take all day due to work and people helping me. So I took another inch offf both sides, not as clean as I wanted it to be.

Now I have an awkward gap. I'm thinking of getting some metal and filling in the gap by welding in onto the bumper. I'll figure something out. But for the time being it's done and on there.

Sweet build man! To help cover up the gap you could weld on some side tubing and add some extra protection in the process. Keep in mind that it is good to have some space as things move and flex a bit when used for the "proper" purposes. (Scraping and protection)

I thought about doing some sort of side tubing as well to help protect the bedsides, especially towards the rear. My problem is that there isn't a whole bunch of a "platform" for any tubing to be welded or anything like that on the top of the "wings" of the bumper.

I do like the idea though. Cant tell how many times I've gotten close to trees back there. I'll just have to see what I can maybe fab up and go from there to see if it works/hide the gap. Like you said its good to have some space, but I'm pushing it.

It's all about experimenting isn't it? By the way, when you were rear ended, did you take the insurance money and put it towards the aftermarket bumper?

It sure is, that's all part of the fun.

No, I did put the money towards the loan though so I could pay it off quicker. The accident happened back in summer of 2015.

Thanks! You definitely should. Do it before you have to play catch up.

Been pouring here lately, so I took the truck up to the stealership today to get the oil changed and let them gawk at it for a bit.

    Moab in 20 days.

Still so much to do to the truck.

    ARB Air Locker
    Brake Lines
    New Rear Shocks
    New Battery (any recommendations?)
    Possibly Roof Top Tent
    Rotopax (FuelPax)
    Getting my HAM License hopefully
And I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

Forgot to mention that I SeaFoamed everything over the weekend. It "feels" like the truck is running a lot smoother now. I think it really helped though.

Back from Moab. Truck did amazing, better than I ever could have imagined. Kept up with Jeeps on 37 inch tires. Got home and was rear ended. Not a scratch on the truck though. I'll have pictures once I get them onto the computer.

Sorry I've been MIA lately. I still haven't uploaded my pictures from Moab yet. Been busy with work and school.

Also bought a 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650 last week to keep miles off the truck. :bikewheelie2:
