Not exactly sure how leases work but why would you owe money up front if your leasing?

It is in the small print of Toyota's incentive offer, likely to make the monthly's seem like less.

I see...wish I could be of more help. I usually stay away from any leasing. To me they just seem sketchy and always have a payment.

$60 month is way off for only options of running boards and tow hitch.

Negotiate like you would negotiate buying outright.

How many miles per year? I would never put money down on a lease. If your credit is good, offer $290 per month sign and drive 0 down. Even go up to $300. No money down on a lease. Throwing $3k away.

12k miles a year as it says in the advertisement. If I'm not mistaken, these Toyota incentives will be cheaper than what the dealer can offer themselves

The only time a lease even remotely makes sense to me is when someone has to be a hotshot to impress clients or co-workers by driving a Mercedes or Beemer...the kind of cars that don't make much financial sense to own.

However you could cut a fat hog on buying a lease return...except dealerships like to charge the new MSRP price for a 2 or 3 year old car.

So if it's $3,000 down and $200 whatever a month, I would calculate what the "real cost" per month would be. I think you'll find out it's going to be more like $400-$500 per month to have it for the lease term. In that case you should just buy, not lease. Just my opinion.

Right, I'm aware that leasing isn't as financially sound as buying in most cases.

    Sorry to rail on that...:D

Also there are so many restrictions that penalize the person leasing the car, I definitly wouldn't go off roading.

No problem :p the post was really just about why their monthly is so much higher than it should be and it seems like they are playing games with it to rip me off. I'm still waiting on a reply from them of course because they only answer quickly for an easy sale. Meanwhile I'm checking out another dealer and got a better quote so we'll see if that one has some trickery behind it too. Thanks for the help so far everyone!
