Light is kickass. The 3000k 35w 500ff's light up fog like it isn't even there - like driving thru clouds then turn those on and bam, 70 yards of vision like the fog vanished. All I have from DDM is 2 of the $40 35w kits. 1 = 5000k H10s in oem fogs and 1 = 3000k H3s in 500ffs. The oem fogs are pointed down where they fill in behind my Phillips Xtremevision halogen low beams, which are hitting about 30-35 yards out in front, back to the truck. The H4 Phillips halogen lows are much better than stock and brights are crazy bright compared to oem. I run lows and fogs every morning going to work and have great lighting and no one flashing me when on 2 lane roads. Now with highs, fogs and 500ffs on, people will lose vision. I save that for beligerant fucks driving around with brights that can't find their low beams. I have a 22" LED lightbar I will be trying out and if decent may replace the 500ffs but those have set the bar pretty high for the LED lightbar to equal or surpass. Contest in progress, not very optomistic about the LED tho AND it would take away my yellow foggy day lighting to swap out 500ffs so we'll see how it plays out. Could just go 3000k H10s in the oem fogs if staying with LED lightbar or rig the mounting on the lightbar to have both 500ffs and the LED lightbar on it. Not sure how it'll play out yet..........

Oh sweet I might go with the fog set up, and you have the Phillips h4 in the headlight right? Have they burned out yet? or in the past?

none yet... i just got the damn truck!
This was the first post I looked at here on TW before I became a member and before I got my taco. I loved it so much I followed the the how to and did it to my truck!
The covers are still on cause I haven't wired them up yet. I've got some caliraisedLED ditch lights coming, so when j install those. I'll wire them both at the same time. Thanks for the write up!

Philips H4s still going, fogs still going, 500ffs still good. Got a 20" LED bar so I could keep the 500ffs on there too..............

Tried out some retros for a bit but the projectors wiggled annoyingly and need to be secured better and wasn't really digging not having brights, for the most part because the hi beams are still just 35w redirected higher. Went back to black'd out oems with the Philips bulbs. The D2S low beam lighting was nice but the vibration on bumps was just too annoying and missed the 55w hi beams.......even with all the other lighting.

Very easy to fit three lights behind the grill. This was on my old 99.

Subbed, got my spare grill insert, now need to start cutting! Can't wait to slap some lighting behind that grill.
