That is aimed at staff (Let's commit) and poorly done, someone didn't think that one through very well. We have similar ones but do not put them up in direct patient care areas.

When I take the staff elevators and see one like those and have to go to the 18th floor from the subway level I usually think well as long as you want to pay for my time to do, sure!

Yeah, I wish there weren't 3 to 4 (I'm gonna try to negotiate leave for Friday) shifts between me and heading for Chitina. It's always a fun trip; harsh environment down on the river there, or at least it can be ... high winds almost always make an appearance, cutting visibility and stirring up blistering glacier silt laden wind swept clouds of debris. But the fish is more than worth it, and part of the Alaska deal is dealing with the fickle bitch Mother Nature and Alaska as they team up to try and kill you. :D

Ok, now I know what glacier silt is thanks to Google. We don't see much of that here in Texas.

I still have braces, teeth are almost where I want them. I have a new found appreciation for what teens go through.

Speaking of gyms, here is ours at work

Dan Abraham, founder of Slim-Fast, is a visionary entrepreneur and philanthropist. "Mayo Clinic saved my life many times and then helped me to improve my health and performance dramatically," says Mr. Abraham. "I was so grateful to Mayo and its staff that I wanted to do something to express my thanks."

And so the Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center was created.

They are tied into Sports Medicine. And from there EXOS was created which is physical performance training and enhancements for professional athletes and even the US Military and Special Forces. The floor that my foot specialist is on also houses a small hockey rink with specialized training equipment for hockey players. In the lower level is the Healthy Eating Cafeteria. I don't eat there very much  They now have facilities all around the world and growing fast.

This video has quite a bit of the inside of the Healthy Living center in it and what EXOS does. Can't embedded it on this board so had to link it, but it is pretty cool. One of the things they do is called improved aging process. I really should spend more time there.

I see those signs at my VA and they're mostly for the staff to stay healthy and not use elevators

I use the stairs when I visit folks in the hospital - if I can find the stairs! As often as not they're pretty well hidden. When I do find them they're abandoned except for the rare staff member.
