NJ to AZ in my Turd gen (not really thread worthy)

Yes I know, I know, a thread for my trip from NJ to AZ...really?!!! This was my first big road trip in my 3rd gen and it did fairly well. The first stretch (NJ-IL) I managed 20-22 mpg going 70mph with 265/75 KO2 Bro's, not too shabby. Once I left IL though, the hills of MO and NM killed it, was getting 16-18mpg, but also had A/C blasting on this last leg for obvious reasons. The seats were more comfortable than my 2nd gen on this same trip 5 years ago and the cabin obviously more quiet/comfortable. I honestly had no issues with my cruise control when I did use it even on hills in NM. I will say the one complaint I have is the engine is pretty gutless with any hill or trying to accelerate rapidly, but can't really remember how my 2nd gen behaved either in this department. Welp, here I am back in AZ for the last 2 years of my enlistment. I will say its Taco madness in this region, though I'm getting some 3rd gen 4wd looks from the older pre-runners here. Tons of gorgeous clean 1st gens. Okay end rant/pointless thread. Apologize in advance as I'm running on empty after doing 27 hours driving in 2 days. Later gents and ladies!

I've done that drive a few times. Grew up in Glendale/phx and got my first duty station at McGuire afb. Not my most favorable road trips lol

Sweet, will do, noticed a ton of 2wd off roads and sports around here, forgot how popular they were out west in that config.
