There will be more pictures to come, but I want to put out a feeler now. I need a cab and if possible a bed. Even willing to buy a donor truck if the price is right.

Thanks, I'm happy to be alive for sure. Really prefer the simplicity and reliability of the old first gen. Also the first gens are cheaper haha :)

I decided I want to ditch my crappy stock bucket seats and upgrade to something nicer. I found a nice set of black leather seats out of a Lexus ES300, they're heated and have full power adjustments. I didn't want to destroy my existing seats so I picked up an ungodly set of 60/40 bench seats out of a '95 Tacoma and ripped them apart to take the seat rails. My plan is to weld the Lexus seat rails to the Tacoma seat rails. The Lexus seats do not tilt forward like the stock ones do so if possible I want to keep the Tacoma sliding mechanism intact.

Now I have to figure out how to wire all of up. I wonder what's a good spot to put the heated seat buttons. I have to be careful since the driver's seat has an airbag, if I connect the wrong wire to 12v I'll deploy the bag and destroy the chair. I don't think there's an easy way to remove the airbag.

Anyone know where I can find the FSM for a Lexus ES300? The reason I went with these seats is because they're comfy and manufactured by Toyota. Might as well keep the truck as close to Toyota as possible.

If you're willing to drive down to Cali there's an Extended Cab '95 at my local P&P. It had some front end damage but the rest of the body is fine.

Glad ya made it out okay.

I'm really trying to spend the time and money on putting a body that's complete and straight on. This one has no reusable panels save for the tailgate.

Thanks, I'm happy and grateful to be safe and sound. The cab did its job and saved me from being crushed.

    Glad to hear you're okay!

What's the plan in terms of a new body? Double cab swap?

Thanks! Glad to be okay :)

Hope to just find another extra cab, doesn't matter if it is newer (practically all of them will be since my truck was a 95). I like the extra cab, just enough room inside and plenty of bed.

I'll look into that today then.

    Yup I know :bananadead:

I've done the driver side already and now this one goes :annoyed:

I don't have a clue, it was getting slower and slower to get the window up for a few months now. Which is why I thought it was the motor

All that black stuff is carbon build up from 20 years of use. Eventually it makes it shoddy/impossible for the switch to make contact and engage the circuit.

The area where yours (and mine below) are most built up is the driver's side switch... which makes sense as that's the one that gets the heaviest use.

Here are my before and after pics.... works like new after cleaning them.

How long has yours been working since you cleaned it? I'll be snagging some stuff to clean it on the ride home today. Glad it wasn't (for now) anything major that needs to be replaced
