In about 4-5 weeks I'll have pictures of the custom aluminum shell I'm having Tradesman Truck Tops make for me. http://tradesmantrucktops.com/

Was out at their factory yesterday and their design and build standards are impressive! Not to mention they will build it to the customers wants/needs. They have a patented hinge design for their windoors that is exceedingly sturdy and eliminates the possibility of leaking. And will exact paint match to the truck (come painting time I'll send them my gas cap).

 

I'm near warren. I'll keep an eye out

 

I just scored this color matched ARE CX topper. Took me three years to find one for the right price. I was on craigslist 3-4 times a day looking.

 

I've seen a lot of folks around us living and working out of them too, so, it's gotta be a good choice in shells! Can't wait!!

Lucked out also- finally found a Pyrite LB shell for $ 650 on cs. Perfect condition.

So I realize this is probably a dumb question, so feel free to ridicule, I know there are 2 different options for 2nd gen shells based off of the cab. Are access cab and double cab the same? and single cab is different or what?

 

Yes, DC and ac same, single different. It is more vertical.

that's what I was hoping, I'm going to get a shell from an ac today for my dc.

 

Access cabs and Double cab long beds are the same, double cab short beds are by themselves, and so are regular cabs.

Got my shell painted. Not that bad. Just making sure I did it right so I took my time. Came out really good. I am happy very happy with the out come. Biggest thing I have paint. A little before and after.
