Thanks! DM me for the GPX. Warning, you will p̶r̶o̶b̶a̶b̶l̶y̶ get some pinstripes, and you might need 4LO to get back out... the washed out road is worse than the pictures portray.

Very true! I don't plan to visit that spot again, so I don't mind sharing... this one, at least.

Totally get and understand all the reasons you couldn't use one. It's just all so personal when it comes to these things and what someone really needs, wants and will actually use. 99% of Truck owners truly never go "off-road" LOL.

One of the reasons we particularly need a trailer is the extreme weather changes... we like camping in the winter and its just not doable, for us anyway, in a tent. I just can't or rather don't want to pack up a wet or snowy tent... and don't have a place in the winter to open it up and dry it. Result: It's nice having a 100% dry and secure place no matter what the conditions outside. waking up to a 1' of snow in a tent sucks... been there done that.. not again. We also often pull into our camping spot in the middle of the night and it's nice just to jump in and be warm and dry. Towing it.... well it will go 99% of the places I ever want to go so it's all good.. and that other 1%... I don't want to take my 40K truck there anyway.., that's why I have dirt bikes and RZR's. ;)

Next week we get a Freespirt Recreation RTT. Totally excited!!!! Our 5'X8.5' footprint will then be able to sleep 4-6 easily... more if some are kids which will be awesome!

Anyway.... the key is just getting outside no matter what you are in. Thanks for the opinions.

You should go spend some time around Cannon Beach... amazing. We spent a week along the Oregon coast last fall and it was super hard to head back east!

With all this Goonies talk, you nerds—myself included—should go to the annual Goondocks celebration on Goonies Day (June 7th) in Astoria next week. I have gone in the past and it's a good time. The dude in the picture below was the Ecola park ranger during the filming and has a lot of behind-the-scenes knowledge he loves to share. I was fortunate enough to be able to tour the Goonies House, the final year the current owners allowed.
    Okay, back on topic.

It was near Soquel and shadow of giants.

Soquel is some sweet off-roading stuff.
