There are a few threads on this already, so Google and the site search should be useful.

TL:DR, ozboost makes a cheap turbo kit that has a low quality turbo and may take some work to get it to fit. URD makes a high quality super charger kit that will be much easier to install and comes with fuel management, but its $5k and doesn't play nice with automatics.

2TR-FE isn't going to hold up nearly as well as the older RZ engines. Probably the same powder rods you see in most newer engines; 1GR had weak internals for weight IIRC (@Torspd); 2TR probably has the same crap.

Same bottom end as 3RZ. Exact. Per @McCrowntown and LCE.

With a better flowing head due to VVT-I.

    OEM 1GR is weaksause.

    Nope.

Forged rods and identical block as the 3RZ with some improvements. Toyota didn't mess with a good thing.

If thats the case then turbo up!. The 3RZ with head studs and a good head gasket would net ~300-350ish safe. The 3RZ 2.7L has a long stroke which wasn't able to make the same +7k RPM's as the 2RZ and the longer con rod meant slightly weaker than the 2RZ as well.

However, I think with the better heads on the 2TR, 400 may be in your neighboorhood with ARP studs and composite gaskets.
