Noises are tough and subjective. I have had a few vehicles in my tech days where I fixed what I thought was the customer's issue. Turned out not to be the noise they were after. Poor communication between the customer and writer were usually to blame. Hearing is also different for people. My ears may pick up on something that yours may not or vice versa. You'd be surprised how many noises you automatically tune out because you've learned they are normal. Like most of the noises my wife's mouth makes.

Be specific about it. The RO should read like an article containing the what, when and where.

What kind of noise is it (clunk, rattle, squeak, etc)?
When does it do it? (frost heaves, turning left, the 3rd Sunday of every other month when the moon is in its 3rd phase).
Where on the vehicle does it happen? (inside, outside, front, rear, left side, right side, etc)

Take a test drive with somebody. Tech, advisor, manager. Replicate it for them. A tech should easily be able to replicate the noise. If it takes 60 minutes of driving to make it happen then they are probably not going to get very far with it.
