It's recommended when adding the AAL. These Parts came stock on the Tacoma's with the Baja package. I also added the replacement clamp under the drivers side Leaf pack. This lowers the Brake line a Tad. Also was stock on Baja's.

The OEM Toyota TRD part #'s are-

TRD Suspension Hardware Kit-PTR13-35120-AD. I paid $17.47 from Toyota. This kit comes with the washers for the TRD front bump stops, but has the Spacer and its mounting Hardware for the rear brake line mount.

The small OEM Toyota clamp is part.# is 90461-10616. $4.64 from Toyota.

This is good thread to read about adding a Factory lift to your Truck. Hope this Helps.

I'm removing the overload spring so that if/when I hit hard, my rear end wont buck. I want a soft impact and am willing to sacrifice the spare lift and weight hauling for said reasons.

I do love a good thought out decision

I haven't really noticed any "bucking" but I don't off-road heavy. Hell, I still have the factory shocks on my rear end. Extended brake lines are the next mod just for some peace of mind.

I thought it was extended brake lines you needed... Do you need both?

Took it to the shop for a service today. Good news is she's running amazing, as always. Bad news, suspension is still good. I keep hoping they'll tell me it's shot so I can get the financial advisor (aka wife) to give the go ahead on a lift. I never imagined after 110,000 miles, stock suspension would still be going strong.......

I heard any suspension compenent with over 100k is actually a safety concern. Should probably go ahead and order that lift so your family stays safe! :burnrubber:

Your don't need to do anything to your brake lines for an AAL.

This set up is working for my mild lift. Anything higher I would recommend the longer Brake Lines.

Thanks guys... I'm only going up like 1.5" though without the overload spring. Some say I need it, others don't. If it's a $20 expense and I'm already down there... why not? Is there a downside? Seems straight forward.

The only downside is that $20 for beer you can no longer spend.

Even if I don't feel it, my suspension would still respond differently. Right?

If you want to add it, add it. I'm just saying it's not necessary because it isn't and others may read it and think they need it.

I'm all about modding to mod but also want the right info to be out there for users.

I'm going to be w/ 2-3" lift all the way around so would that be considered mild or do I need either of those to things?

For $10 I know a guy who can make sure it's shot. Or you can simply take the road to Racetrack Playa and ruin it on your own.
