Interior Accent Lighting

I'm a new Tacoma owner just bought a 2014 Double cab and I've been looking into doing some interior accent lighting modifications. I'd like to start with some cup holder lighting and floor lighting under the dash and in the back. I'd like to have these lights come on and stay on when my doors open and while the car is running. I also want to have them on switches to override the lights at any time as well. Anyone have any tips or info on the kinds of lights, or the easiest way to wire this up. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
