Greetings all, i have been searching the forums for a few weeka and reading all kinds of posts and really liking what im seeing from the community.

I am lookng at trading in my 2 vehicles ( 13 Camaro and 05 Colorado which has been giving me problems) and get a certified 16 tacoma. If they ever get it ready to sell with the recall.

16 Tacoma Limited 4x4 SB with around 20k miles. From what i read they all come loaded this one has tow package as all of them ive seen in louisiana do. Ive looked on car gurus and such and compared prices. How do i figure out exactly how low they can go? Any strategies?

Just out of curiosity, what kind of problems are you having? And are both of your rides paid for?

What part of Louisiana are you in?
You will have to negotiate, and some dealers are willing to budge more than others.
Don´t let them use the trades to hide numbers, go in knowing what you want to take on your trade vehicles and know what your buffer zone is.

So you want to go from problematic GMs to a potentially problematic Toyota? Maybe wait for 2018s...

I've got a 2017 and I love it. The biggest problem your going to run into is the two trades. If it's a clean deal without a trade you have leverage, but with 2 cars and what you described (no offense) you've got your work cut out for you. The dealer knows he's got a better hand (merchandise) than you so you need to work on your bluffing game. The rest is up to you.

How much are you looking to spend? A used '16 costs almost as much as a new '17.

How about a lightly used 2015? You could find one for much less, you would already know more about the gen/platform that you're getting (pros/cons) and it's still got Tacoma steez!

    Exactly I would go with a 2nd gen over a used 2016.

The OP is looking for/a Limited. Did you not read his post? The advise your giving is irrelevant to his question.

Just to play devil's advocate to this a little, while I did have a few hiccups (trans fluid low, bumper misaligned, head light loose) they were all small and somewhat expected with a new generation and new vehicle in general. These issues have since been resolved by the dealership. This truck has so far been the best vehicle I have owned and I currently have zero remaining problems.

i will only bring the camaro to trade in. they are both paid off. the colorado was bought for 5k cash so i dont have a problem ditching it quick locally. I have cash and good credit.

    I am in SE louisiana.

Truck problems, i really cant tell as the problem is intermittent and ive dropped 2k in it recently and still having a horrible noise and thump sometimes. if the noise is going while i hit my brake i can feel it real good. I drive a few hundred miles round trip when i go fishing, its time to get something i dont have to worry about.

Problamatic toyota, problematic colorado, F150, Ram... pick your poison i guess

The truck is listed around 32k CPO

IMO 32k is a very good price for a CPO LTD Taco.

Ive considered a 2015 but im leaning towards paying just a bit more for a little bit longer warranty and less wear

If anything it wouls be step up to a bigger sized truck for future towing of a boat.

Sometimes education will sway the opinion on what a person is looking for... he came here for opinions and advice and I'm going to shoot him straight with my opinions based on my experience. Last i checked there is no rule against this. If you have a problem with my opinion then ignore my posts or don't read them. Now stay on topic.

I know .. but think about how little wear a 2015 with 25-35k would have, and the price would be comfortably in the mid 20s..
