Hey guys. Quick questions. Hear a lot of talk about leaf springs breaking and wondering what the cause is. Mine are fine in my 06, just wondering what makes them break.

    Thanks.

Does this happen more often if you haul heavy loads?

My 06 leaves were fine to but had a negative arch to them. I did haul a lot of heavy loads with them and they never broke. If your truck is valid for the recall I would get it done. Or get rid of your packs asap. It's just a mater of time before they fail.

As far as I know Toyota replaces them with a new set of the same leaf springs, so those fail too. So no sense in replacing them unless someone can get an aftermarket set installed by Toyota for free.
