Hopefully a future Tacoma owner (UPDATE!)

Hi everyone,

Ive lurked around here for a while. Based in los Angeles and saving for a Tacoma. Im really itching to get one by summer this year. I'm saving as much as I can and will weigh my options in about 3-4 months.

In the meantime I'm reading as much as I can and trying to inform myself of what to look for (frame rust) and even read up on other vehicle comparisons. For example I considered the frontier because of the price difference but realized the 2007 model has a radiator leakage issue.

I'm not looking for anything new, in fact I kinda like the 2nd generation look. Plus, this will be my third vehicle. Since I'm in social, I wouldn't be facing any harsh winters or doing a lot of towing, but I do love camping and constantly in the need to haul stuff around from home depot. (Ive already read the short bed vs long bed threads ..lol)

Ive always love trucks and damnit, I want one. Lol

Ive been looking at pricing and one thing ive noticed, is just how much more expensive tacos are in socal. For instance I saw an 03 with 168k miles going for $18k. (San Diego)

Other States have a similar truck for about $11k...

In any case, I'm being patient and reading as much as I can. I'm sure I'll have plenty to as this forum when I'm ready to jump.

A few questions:

• The truck came with XM radio. Is there a way to find out how much time is left?
• I have two small dings on the hood from what looks like road rocks. Best way to get those out. Very small and not sharp where paint cracked.

Things I've already purchase:

• Tacoma bed mat waiting for it
• Bed pole divider

Things i want to purchase next:

• A trifold bed cover. It has a fiberglass on, but I intend to sell it.
