Hey guys. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem?

My truck is just two weeks old, and I just gave it it's first detailing job. I went out and bought a full line of Maguire's products, from their liquid wax, to the interior wipes and interior protectant. I also bought all new microfiber cloths.

after wiping down the clear shield covering the cluster display, I noticed fine surface scratches all over the clear plastic, as well as on the clear plastic covering the gear position indicator by the AT shifter.

I'm certainly didn't apply any crazy amount of pressure, and used brand new wipes and microfiber towels.

I'm pretty bummed out, and I think I'm going to try some plastic polish to see if I can eliminate the surface scratches, but I'm just interested to hear if anyone else has had similar experiences?:(

Never use any chemicals on the clear plastic. Damp microfiber cloth only. Been doing that for years and never had any problems

We'll while I'm at it. Should I look into any form of protection for my nav screen display?

OP I use computer LCD monitor cleaning wipes from work. No scratches.

I also got a protective plastic cover for the touch screen on the radio. They sell them on Amazon

OP, a good trick is to pull the cluster and put a layer of clear or very light tint over the plastic ( on the outside ). Window tint is way more durable...done this trick on every truck I have owned.

That textured rubber on the door panels is a dust and dirt magnet.

I've use a microfiber towel and inner-clean from Chemical Guys for over a year now. I wipe my cluster display and nav screen twice a month.. No scratches thus far.. I would bet it's the towel to be honest. I'm sure the plastic they use isn't the best either.

I use a few Meguiar's products. All exterior stuff tho. Never had experience with their interior stuff. I wouldn't think those cleaning wipes would scratch your display! I don't know man.. I'm sure you can lightly buff them out.. Amazon has protective covers for the nav screen. Hope you can figure it out. Best of luck.

Holy mackerel, I agree with Smitty again. The rubber stuff on the doors is a dust/pollen magnet. I think for a ~32000 truck, they materials would be a bit more quality. So for no issues, but the newer cars & trucks are much cheaper inside. Of course, still MUCH nicer than the Colorado - why so cheap and hideous for Chevy.

32K?! My truck MSRP was over 39K... I got it for $500 over invoice but after tax it was back up in the high 39's
