I've always loved how the 2nd gen tacoma has looked. I told everybody I wish I could afford a tacoma so I could buy one, dream truck for sure. Then one day a guy my brother knew was selling one a white dbl cab long bed tacoma for $14,000 100k miles on it. The truck was a little over my price range but I had to have it, so I went to the bank and the bank lady told me it booked for 19k so I was just that much more excited. I bought it a year ago I think I got a steal on it and I still love the 2nd gen tacoma best truck ever

that's one hell of a price, OP.

Honestly, I always thought they were a good looking truck but didn't want one. Interior was outdated, poor gas mileage compared to competition (even full size), underpowered engine in terms of horsepower, and overpriced.

I test drove a Colorado and liked it, but it was a 4+ month wait for what I wanted (quad cab, either long or short bed). Tested the Frontier, and hated it. I figured I owed the Tacoma a test drive, so I could say I looked at all my options. I test drove one, and the appeal suddenly made sense. Purchased it 3 weeks later.

The funny thing is, the Frontier was the same formula: basic interior, nothing fancy, made to work. Toyota just did a much better job of pulling it off. Colorado did drive smoother though.
