    I drilled a hole in the rain gutter on top, fed the wire through, ran down the door frame between the weather stripping there, into engine bay then through the grommet.

    I've also seen someone use a cable gland through the roof.

    I ran mine behind the seal around the windshield but it does not hide real well. My look into this option.
