Currently own 2016 trd sport double cab auto long bed 12000 km . dealer says he has a trd sport double cab manual short bed 26000 km coming in on trade.

Dont get me wrong I love my truck but I find annoyances with the shifting characteristics of my auto on the highway in this windy bunghole I live in. If there is any headwind at all she will never hit 6th on the highway and rarely gets below 14 l /100km . It also loves to play between 4th 5th and 6th the whole time and I live in the flatest country you'd ever come across .

Figured if I could trade straight up it might be worth it to me.

If they trade straight up or very close, do it.

Check for leaky diff first! Lol.

Sorry to the American folks, 14 l/100km is roughly 17mpg and a highway is an interstate or freeway haha

My truck had the recall check and is good, I would find it hard to believe that they wouldn't do it on a trade in but no-one can be trusted and I would definitly have that in mind if I was to strike a deal

You will like the manual. It is smooth and sporty. I on average get 18-20mpg, though when you put your foot down it can get 14. I have 22k on it without any problems not even under any recalls. I do trust this truck seeing as to how I took it on a 10k mile road trip...and did not let me down.

Just bought a manual. Love it! Drives so nice. One of the smoothest shifting, as well.

Let us know how it goes if you do it. I live in a windy desert and have had the same problems. It got better after reprogramming the trans. but not great. I almost traded my truck in for a manual, but I would have lost to much money, so I decided to wait for awhile. Good luck.

Go with the MT. I love it and have driven both.

    The tranny is super smooth.

I also had both tsb' s completed for the transmission shifting issues. Solved my shift flare, and my delay park to drive , but still doesn't feel right at highway speeds when it wants to bounce through 4-5-6 constantly . Still waiting to hear if he got the truck for now .

With 6 speed manual doing 120kmhr you'll get 12.7-13.5 ish /100 on the highway long and flat.

The savings in fuel probably won't warrant equal the lost money in the trade.

    Your money not mine.

If you keep the speed below 120 in my truck I've averaged 12.8 for 24000km. My commute to work typically is 11.8/100 not exceeding 100kmhr.

If you're on the diff recall or for CPS list you may have issues with dealer wanting to trade or take it in.
