    Morning guys,

I dented my partner's 2000 driver's door panel and cracked the mirror. Electric windows, manual mirror. I'm researching how to fix this and was hoping for some advice. I am reasonably handy though admittedly inexperienced in auto mechanics. After a good amount of reading, the following appears accurate (please correct if wrong):

    1. Looks like technically easiest option is finding a matching a door and replacing the whole thing, though also likely the most expensive.
    2. More work but less expensive if I can find the exterior panel and salvage the undamaged glass, lock, interior panel and electrical components from the current door.

    Two questions:
    A. interested in hearing advice on trying to get a local paintshop to match the silver exterior. I'm reading mixed reviews on the likelihood of this looking good at the end of the job. I think my partner would be satisfied if one couldn't appreciate a difference at first glance, though closer inspection revealed some differences.
    B. Assuming I go with option 2 above, do I need to worry about whether the replacement door had manual or electrical windows? I'm thinking, not, since I would salvage all of the [undamaged] interior components from the current door.

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.

Do you have pics of the damage? I have a ton of door parts including the manual mirrors.
