Just got back from Best Buy looking at washer & dryers , damn they're pricey !!! . I needed to get them for my new place and I've always rented them before either thru the apt complex or rental store

This is the first time I bought a washer & dryer before and spent over $1500 for both

Unless the site is picking up my IP and node address and showing me Best Buy Prices from here those prices are about normal. You did make sure you have gas as the dryer is gas you listed . You could probably find some used or scratch and dent at sears there for less .

Not so much in Apartments or Housing developments , I know you probably never ran into it but I have hell even 20 years ago they had rules like no exposed clothes lines or no clothes lines at all etc .

Yes gas dryer and I wanted new appliances ,dont want headaches and empty wallet syndrome due to used appliances

Yeah there is that with used , I have done the scratch an dent sale stuff usually minimal but they came with full warranty etc . Saves a few bucks I same as you am the only one bringing a paycheck home lol the Dog certainly isn't and since cats barely like people I don't think they are helping you out lol with rent etc

I got the washer for $499 on sale and the dryer for $599 also on sale . saved $130 on the washer and $120 on the dryer

 

It doesn't affect me but we almost bought a house in one of those associations. Didn't know it at the time it was part of it. Mmmmmm at the time I had 3 cars, race car, trailer, etc.
Guy made a mistake of saying I couldn't bring them to the house to work on them in the yard.
I'm spending 100's of thousands of my hard money and your going to tell me what I can and can't do on my own property? Yeup by by... Hehehehe one of the rules was no clothes lines...

Yeah I got stuck in one for a while ..Lost the argument she felt it would be nice with kids that other kids were around , though they were not as nutty as some I have read about so I never really had a problem . Some of the rules they wanted to institute were stupid and shot down with a little help lol . To be honest the person who built the development originally was selling it as an over 55 community the market was soft so he changed that to who ever etc. The 2 dozen owners who had bought in because of over 55 were pissed but could not do anything about it as the HOA did not become active till over 90% sold so they had no legal recourse. But since they were retired and had time lol they got most of the HOA positions :}

Used them most of my childhood.
One winter we put my jeans outside and a snowstorm came. We forgot them outside. We brought them in and had to lean the pants against the wall next to the kerosene stove to thaw out.. Lol

 

Should I feel bad I have one of those and a dryer lol and a clothes line :}

Diversity. Clothes use to smell so nice on the line in the fall. I'm thinking of putting one back up to the tree line.
