    IMG_1154.jpg IMG_1152.jpg IMG_1155.jpg IMG_1162.jpg IMG_1158.jpg IMG_1163.jpg IMG_1160.jpg Hi guys,

So I'm somewhat of a new member on Tacomaworld. I've been on here since 2015 but this is my first actual "build thread"

My platform is a 1999 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4x4. 3.4 V-6 Automatic. It is a great little truck already. Pretty clean aside from a few small dings. No rust at all, but that's pretty common here in East TN (sorry northern guys) interior is near mint also. I purchased this truck a couple years ago with a blown engine and replaced it with a low mileage one from a 4runner. After I got it running and cleaned it up I gave it to my grandfather and he enjoyed it up until now. I recently talked him into selling it to me. I have had many many tacomas in the past, but for some reason I always regretted letting this little truck go.

I have big plans for it this time around. I have recently gotten interested in overlanding/adventuring and I am itching to build my own rig. This will be a very mild and dependable build. I want something I can drive every day and still take riding and adventuring on the weekends. So I plan to try and attempt a happy median. I'm a newbie at this, and it's going to be a learning curve for me. But I'm determined to actually document and make a build thread out of this one. I might need your alls motivation every now and then! I will update my list of future mods and work this week when I am finished planning it out in my head.

So I don't have any interesting updates today. I've decided to fix/replace all of the factory components on the truck that need attention before I begin to modify it. I ordered an OEM Toyota console lid and it came in today:

My old one was cracked and the hinges were broken. Here's a side by side comparison:

I know that this is a common problem for 1st gen tacomas so here is a close up of the part number:

I actually purchased it from eBay. Here is the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/282405400761

Not very many updates lately. Other than a few little things I haven't been able to do much. We've had a ton of rain here in east TN and today I took my fiancé on a little ride through the trails. Bring stock, it surprised me how well it went through all of the soupy mud. Can't wait to see what it can really do! IMG_1405.jpg

Well, sorry for lack of updates lately guys. I just haven't had time or funds lately to do anything spectacular. I DID however score on a camper top. Found it local on CL. Color matched and it also already has Yakima Roof rails! Picked it up for $500. Felt like that was a pretty good buy. By the way, does any one have any ideas on how to figure out what types and brands of roof racks/baskets will fit on my Yakima system? There is no part numbers or anything to go off of. IMG_1715.jpg
