I have trouble finding the ignition key switch when I enter during night hours. The dome lights don't help me and I have to practically lay down to find it. Has anyone rigged a light in the ignition switch area that would work in conjunction with the dome lights? I have a 2012.

There's a mod that kicks on the map lights with the dome light. That'll give you the needed light. And yes, you're right, the key area isn't illuminated very well.

I'd like to not have to play "pin the tail on the donkey" with the key in the dark and scratch up panels. I'm looking for the easiest way to tap the dome light circuit so I can put some kind of temporary lighting device on the lower dash area. I'd like some electronic advice to accomplish this.

how does that help if no power to it unless key is in the ignition?

    back to bone stock.
i dont even think about putting the key in..i bet i lead off with an exploratory finger. i'm gonna consciously check out how i do it..i never look in any car.

besides if you cant see the keyhole, you wont see the scratches. :)

Chrysler has this issue nailed - all their vehicles have a light around the ignition area that illuminates when you open the door. Works great, but it's about the only thing that works on a Chrysler.

For sure! Lighting up the key area is amazing.

But you have to sacrifice a wheel to do it. Common Mopar math.

You could always go the ghetto route and order one of those LED lights that goes around your ignition and wire it into your dome light so it's on until you crank the truck.

Note, I've never done this and I have no knowledge of this company, just found them on eBay but I've seen similar products sold in the Philippines.

Or order direct from China, as many as you want. o_O

Are you trolling, because I can't you seriously?

Dome lights dont help and you have to practically lay down, GTFO!

Chrysler is actually quite clever in a lot of ways. It is too bad they can't build a vehicle that lasts a reasonable amount of time.
