I would love to do that but the swap would cost more than putting another 3.4 (with a supercharger hopefully!) in my truck

Finally upgrading my fogs. The Morimoto 35W ballasts and matching 5k bulbs have served me well over the last 4 or 5 years.. but time to make the switch. Pods will be paired with the Apex Fabworks fog light mounts.

12volt villains pods. Similar to my other switchbacks, but with 4D optics and better LEDs. Gonna compare them to my Lifetime pods and if these are better, I'll switch them all out.

Barely made it home last night. Haha.

The Apex Fab mounts from Cali Raised are pimp though! Nice and beefy.

So.. gonna try and return the pods, and either return or pass on to another TW member the mounts... If anyone is interested.. $60 bucks. Lol

switching back to HIDs. They just outperform... sticking to my old setup, but just a refresh.

Ordered new Foglight housings, 55w Morimoto ballasts, Morimoto bulbs, new LED reverse bulbs, front and rear LED turn signal bulbs, some Eyelids I'll have colormatched, and going to finish up my headlight build and spruce the front end up a bit.

I would not give up so quickly.. Those pods dont have a listing on what they are rated for on their website.

    http://extremeledlightbars.com/extreme-series-5d-3-philips-led-light-pod-1600-lumens-2

I was thinking of giving these a try. They use the 5w Cree chips and are cheap enough to give a test. If the output is anywhere near 1600 i would be stoked

EDIT: The cali raised 2x2 pods use the 5w cree chips too. I have those for my ditch lights

trust me... I've put my time in on lighting. lol

HID is where its at for lighting out in front of the truck. I've been running with just my fogs as my lighting for years. HID just throws so much better. same price, if not cheaper too. I wanted something too specific anyways, so just gonna bail and stick with what works. simpler and less headache.

Go with what you know !

The LED tech is advancing pretty quickly. The 5D optics are a huge step up so im stoked to have my Cali raised bar up top. Smashes my old bar. Don't even need my hood painted black now, it focuses so well lol

yeeeeeah. Im waiting for switchback tech to get better. Until then, I think I'll stick with HID. I dont want amber ALL the time in my fogs, which leaves white all the time.. and I'd rather have the HID at that point.

Just curious as to why just running fogs for your lighting?

my headlights may or may not have stopped working... lol

I was having some electrical bugs, they would work sometimes, or the shields would be stuck, so I just unplugged them from my Fuse Block. I've been meaning to fix them for a while now, just one of those things that kept getting pushed off.. since I did have the light from the fogs. Finally ordered everything this weekend actually, so I will start on building my new headlights and fogs here shortly.

    Sand Drags results..

    11-1

the 1 was DAMN close. By a wheel length... maybe. Was a brand new Silverado with a tune, exhaust and whatever else. good dudes tho.

Did take down a built offroad Cherokee that was supposedly running Nitrous. I heard the purge at the line, and then another guy confirmed it later. Another Cherokee, a few Chevy's, iincluding one LOUD mouth dude and his boyfriend. Talked mad shit in line, "oh is that cammed, sounds cammed, oh wait, that might be us.." "its kinda fast" at one point I heard the driver say "I'm gonna get a video of me whoopin this dudes ass" and at the tree, in the most condescending tone.. "dont beat us tooooo bad".. The entire time, I stayed silent, observing my opponent.. Then ... go time..

Lets just say I had a fun time hanging out the window waving and shrugging from a few truck lengths ahead, then ignoring their question of "whats in that??"

I raced them later in the night again.. and they didnt say a word.. and they lost.. again..

    Great night!

@Milota95 and his new Taco whooped some ass too! that little thing is quick! gave me run for my money!

Huge thanks to Evan for coming over yesterday and helping knock out some of the 90k service BS.

Had a couple wrenches thrown into the mix, like usual, so some stuff didnt get finished. Noticed after the drags last night I had brake line issues at the flare fitting on the passenger front, so had to replace the hard line from caliper to soft line, then put my old soft line back in. Will be ordering a new extended line and swapping it back in soon. Got the plugs changed, supercharger oil changed, front and rear Diffs, and Tcase fluids changed (to Mobil 1 75w-90 Synthetic) and threw in a new K&N oiled air filter. Also snapped a bolt in the factory front skid bracket, so need to either replace that, or cough up the money to do an aftermarket skid.

Just need to finish the coolant flush (going to do a 170 degree T stat at the same time), serp belt swap, and a couple other small misc things. Then hopefully back to the good fun mods.

Sweet, Wheelers is gonna get me a new set for $50. I asked for one, and they were willing to separate them, and sell just the one for $25, but its easier for them and gives me a spare.
