Hey so I'm at a critical point in my build and have about 4-7 grand to throw into power mods to help with my truck over the next few months. Ideally I'd like to stay at 4... (leaves more room for other mods lol) after Moab while I handled most trails well and the 4banger did its job I wanted more power on the long road there with all the gear and on the pre runner trails.

With that being said who has a super charger and how do you like it is maintaining it and the engine more work now? Are you happy with your choice or do you wish you just did a v8 swap?
    Thanks much,
    Jack

How much weight? And what goes into that swap to still keep it a capable off-road and daily vehicle

Every time I look into a v8 swap the prices add up once you start looking at ecu or wiring, exhaust, transfer case and tranny.

This is mine. As for reliability the 2uz is pretty much built proof (1 million mile tundra) trans and transfer case is the same (a750f) wire will be the biggest thing to do which isn't too bad if you know what you're doing.

@boostedka has a turbo 4 banger IIRC. I remember him saying in another thread that a supercharged 4cyl feels about like a n/a 3.4l taco.

I believe a simple resistor would work. I know someone on here has done it.

I would like to hear from the auto trans members. I heard that the auto doesn't work well with the turbo kit. Something about having hard shifting after installing.

What trans? 4 bangers use an A340 type. Mine is an A340E 30-40LS and the OE shift is absolute mush. I went in years ago and modified the 1-2, 3-4 accumulators. Factory transmission would need to be retuned to handle the power (higher line pressure) and shift even faster.

I have a turbo four-cylinder auto a340e and I installed the Transgo kit and I love it and yes it shifts hard depends on how big of a hole you drill while installing
