Rear passenger wheel sticks out further than left? Why?

I lifted my truck with the toytech 3" lift kit and I just put on spidertraxx 1.25" spacers. I have 275/75/17 tires on the OEM trd pro 4runner wheels. After putting the spacers on, it's really obvious that the passenger rear wheel sticks out a good 1/2" more than the left side. The spacers are the same size. It was probably like this before and I didn't notice it until after putting the spacers on.

Anyone else have this issue? How can I fix it or do I have to buy different size spacers?

Your truck also sits lower on the drivers side.

 

There was another thread on this, can't remember the outcome. Have you checked your bed alignment? Going against bodywork for any alignment or lift is a mugs game, you need to measure to the frame. Check to frame, then you'll find out if it's axle or body problem.

 

Pretty typical imperfection for Tacomas (which are a vehicle Toyota doesn't put a lot of effort into).

 

Man I dunno...ur bed maybe slightly off. That's barely noticeable.

Mine is the same way. I think it's partly the lean. It's not as noticable after it comes off the jack and you drive it around a bit.

Like @smitty99 said. 3rd gens are known to have beds out of alignment. You notice it now because the wheels are sticking out. Check gap and alignment between bed and cab on both sides. Mine is off and will fix myself soon.

Sorry to tell you that. I'm going to have to check mine in the morning. This will drive me fricken crazy. I've noticed on some of the slightly older Chevy 1500 that front wheels stick out a lot more than rear wheels, like about 3/4 inch on each side.i could never drive a vehicle that looked that far off. 1/2 inch I might let slide but I'm a little OCD on certain things.

 

If you have the taco lean, that could be why. I thought I had the same issue and then I realized i have pretty bad lean since putting in the bigger battery... Got a buddy to stand on the back bumper passenger side and voila, no tire stick-out

 

Check my thread on the same issue. Both OR and PRO have the same issue. Also ALL the new trucks on the lot have it.

 

From what I've read, and maybe I'm wrong, this is how Tacoma's have come for years. I've always remembered that the right side sticks out more to help "compensate" for axle wrap on acceleration in solid axle vehicles. But maybe I'm wrong.

 

Regardless I'm sure the dealer will agree and say "it's normal for the vehicle!"

This is not a Tacoma or Toyota issue. This is common on lots of cars new and old. My 2013 Camaro was the same way as well as a 2010 Camry and 2010 Silverado that I owned as well as many other vehicles that I've owned. It's not a bed or cab alignment issue and years ago it was explained to me why vehicles are setup like this but I can't remember why but this is normal
