I bought a phone mount that I'm trying to mount to my dashboard... the mount keeps falling off.
I used the included 3M sticker ... and that held for about 30seconds. I bought a 3M foam tape that's rated at 2lbs per inch of tape... and that held until the inside of the cab got hot when it was parked in the sun.

    What are y'all using?
I was hoping to avoid superglue/ drilling a hole if I could.

I use a Ram X-Mount that suction cups to the windshield. very secure. this one, https://www.amazon.com/Suction-Universal-X-Grip-Holder-RAM-B-166-UN7U/dp/B0066BWMNU

the problem with adhesive pads, there's no flat spot to put them, so the contact will always been sketchy. clean the vinyl off really well with isopropanol ('rubbing alcohol'), and those 3M foam pads /should/ work OK

I've thought about the suction mounts... but there's a flat spot right below the "Hazard Lights" button on my 1st Gen ... but, that tape just isn't strong enough it seems

I'm thinking of getting a Ram Mount 1" ball and bolting it to the top of the gen2 stereo cover, I've got an aftermarket stereo and plastic trim plate piece.

I got mine from ProClip and made a bracket that attaches to it to hold my Ultra Gauge

Panavise + proclip and I love it. Low profile, not too gaudy. Here's the panavise. The proclip bolts onto this bracket.

Get one of these. You won't be sorry. Best mount ever after about 10 others that sucked.

I tried that ultra-super strong foam tape from 3M linked above ... it seems to be holding... for now. we'll see what happens after the dash gets hot today in the sun.

That's an interesting idea ... I wonder if I could find something similar that would work with the ball mount I already have ... hrrrmmm

The panavise has a bolt pattern that supports lots of accessories. I'd bed you can bolt on a RAM mount or similar.
