What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Yessir! I would have been dreaming about 5100s for quite a while before I could get them. These will do exactly what I want for 1/4 $$$.

 

In other news, I just dropped my truck off at the used stealership I bought it from, and boy, do I have a good story for you guys!

I noticed a shake or a chatter when I was test driving it, but it was minimal and I'd never had a truck with a standard, so I didn't know if that was just "how it is" or not. I did know, however, that the clutch was releasing super high and it needed to be replaced. I tried to tell them, but their techs looked at it and said it was "fine," and yes, that's a quote.

Three weeks later, I finally have some time to bring it to my mechanic. He drives it out of the lot and in less than a minute he's diagnosed the chatter as a warped flywheel and has confirmed my fears that the clutch is on its way to imminent failure. Once he gave me my $1800 quote for OEM parts and labor, I gave the crooks at the dealership a call and ripped them apart. How can a truck that I bought three weeks ago already need $1800 worth of repairs already? How can my mechanic diagnose something in 10 minutes that your techs chose not to diagnose in five days?

The Service Manager finally returned my call and suggested I bring it down, so I'm now without Taco at least until I hear from them again. Then again, getting information from them is like pulling teeth, so it could be awhile. Thankfully, the flywheel is covered under my 90 day warranty, so I hope that when they kindly agree to replace it, they'll accept Christ into their life as their one true savior and do the clutch too, because they realized that they were dicks before.

Hoping to avoid conflict, but hey, I don't get free stuff unless I fight people for it, so it should be an interesting week!

Wax after the polish on aluminum parts and they stay polished for a lot longer time. I did the rims and aluminum stinger ball mount, ball mount was done about 6 months ago and still shines like chrome, I expect the same from the rims.

 

Quick question -

When you unlock / lock the truck do the LEDs flash like the OEMs?

 

I did my door panels, both inside and out skins, complete floor, complete roof, complete rear wall in about 6 hours. A family member works for an audio shop, I probably got about $400 worth for free and went to town. Huge difference when my windows are up, which is never lol

I like knowing that I'm prepared for things such as hitting a dear, zombies, or just your everyday asshole cutting me off, that bumper will take on all of the above!

 

First, got an all pro skid second hand with mild surface rust for $145, I thought it was a steal.. the thing weighs like 70#s and I'd have some trouble denting it with a hammer.


The bad thing is I was getting a muffler for my 2.7 and wanted a 50 series delta flow, well the guy didn't have one and I let him talk me into a super 44... pretty fuckin ricey.. kinda bummed but hopefully it'll get a bit better

She's a fiery little Puerto Rican, fits right in with both my sister's sass, thank you for the well wishes, I'm in remission but still dealing with the after effects almost 4 years later, things seem to be getting better recently!
