Did Toyota make one for the 2015? I already have holes drilled in my bumper but after a search on the 'Net and this forum I don't see anything for the 2nd gen's. Saw one for the 3rd gen and the Tundra but nothing that fits my 2015. Around here all I see are license plates screwed directly to the bumper.

Search for "2nd Gen Low Mount/No Drill License Plate Bracket-$35 Shipped."
ACEkraut sells a bracket that allows mounting without drilling the bumper.

Bought it used with the holes already drilled. Just want to use the existing holes to mount a bracket, then mounting the plate to the bracket rather than screwing the plate directly to the bumper.

You can do what I did.
I just took the plastic dealer plate cover and turned it backwards and installed. Added some support without being excessive

My '14 has the holes drilled right into the bumper, also.

Thanks for the mention @ChadsPride and @DallasTX

The product I offer is linked below in my sig but from what you have mentioned in this thread what I offer may not be what you are looking for. When I created the original design for my Tacoma I just didn't want holes drilled in my bumper and I liked the aesthetics of the plate sitting at a lower point. I just thought it looked better. Others asked me to create a design to fit their truck and a little side business was born where I make a little money to fund some mods to my own truck. (I just never seem to have enough time to install them after I buy them.) The added bonus of the bracket I offer is that if you ever want to put a light bar in that lower opening the plate will be low enough so it does not block the light.

The bad news for me was that the dealer screwed up and drilled holes in the bumper anyways. The good news was that I turned that into a free bed extender.

Regardless, if I can help in some way, including designing a modified bracket to accomplish what you want to accomplish then let me know.

    Thanks all.
I called the dealership and the parts dept told me Toyota never made a front OEM bracket for the 2005-2015 Tacoma. I'll have to find one I like and modify it.
I wish the front plate wasn't required and the bumper wasn't already drilled.

True. And I have not seen anyone who adapted a third generation style plate holder to the 2nd gen. Is that what you are looking to do?

I'll probably just keep an eye out for a plastic universal that I can cut to contour to the shape of the front bumper. I have done this before. I like the frames where the plate is inset and the plate is retained by tabs to keep it from bending or catching and edge. If I come with a clean solution I will post it. Front end looks so good without the plate. Too bad we can't go to some sort of invisible digital system and do away with archaic metal plates altogether. The criminals would find a million ways to take advantage of that.

Not a fan of front LP of any configuration, here in Texas you've got to have one. So here's a less obnoxious alternative for some. I happened to have some color matched TU paint went to the local hardware store bought some door panel plugs (like .29 cents each) then screwed the LP directly to the skid-plate.

I have a feeling you would get a ticket pretty quick around here for that. I like where your head is at though, it is still on the front of the truck!

Not going to be legal in states that require a front plate.

I did a lay down plate on the rear fender of my motorcycle and never got pulled over but I think the front plate on the truck they would probably squawk about.

You guys are right :) These kinds of laws are state by state......Then how they are interpenetrated state by state, PoPo to PoPo. Here in DFW no problem.

They told me the same thing until I demanded they give me some sort of fitting so the license plate has some bracket at least (I can post picture if you want).

I bought used with 13k on odo and previous owner/dealer had already drilled holes. I think it is blasphemy to drill into a body of a car for a license plate. Even in states where it's illegal to not have a front plate is silly, it's not like the state reimburses you for performing damage to your vehicle.

I've thought about plugging them and using the low mount / no drill but damage is already done but it'd provide a clean look.

I figure they would have already gotten you if you travel west on 20 past weatherford. They are just looking for reasons out there.

Yes. I photo would be helpful and/or the part # they gave you, if you get a chance.

No idea on part number unfortunately. I would have to unscrew later but upon short Googling, it looks similar to this.

You'd think before damaging a front bumper deliberately they'd have some OEM adaptation similar to this so I dont have to eventually locktite the threads or nut the other side =/
