SOLD - FS: 2nd Gen Heated Mirrors Kit

I have a set I bought from Up2NoGood a year ago from my previous 2013 Taco that I never ended up putting on as I am getting a 3rd Gen soon. Brand new in box. I am in Western Canada (Edmonton, Alberta) if that helps any local Canadians.

The kit I chose is as follows (most popular kit for the 2013):

1. Switch Left of Steering Wheel (option for left of steering wheel or under AC). Thought it would look more OEM with the rest of the Taco switches left of the steering wheel.
2. 15 minute timer (option for 5 minute or 15 minute). Chose 15 minute timer before it switches off. Does not turn on with car starters.
3. Amber illumination (Option for Amber or Green Illumination button). Matches the 2013 Tacomas Amber lighting at night.

For those who are not mechanically savvy, any shop that installs car starters, alarms etc can install this for around $150-200. It is a plug an play kit but requires you to pull the door panels off and what not which I know is a little off putting to some people. It is no different than what car starter installers do everyday.

 

I have 2015 TRD Sport with color matched mirrors including the blinker / I want to swap them out for standard black base model mirrors but the guy at the Toyota parts desk says that the current wiring harness won't be compatible.
If I buy the compatible wiring harness would that clip into the current switch on the dash or does that have to be swapped out too ? Thanks in advance..

I've got a 2008 and would be interested as well - in Calgary - i can't rememeber if they're the same from 2005-2015......

Not sure myself as I only ever had a 2010 and 2013. I believe so but I think maybe the ambient lighting color could be different?

2005-2011 used amber backlighting
2012-2015 used green backlighting

That said to change the switch from amber to green or vice versa is a matter of just changing out a bulb in the switch. I wouldn't let it deter you from buying the kit if it is not in the color you want!
