Had to post this just to vent.

This was my dog Chloe. She was 13 and was a pretty weird dog but we loved the piss out of her. On Memorial day weekend my wife woke up early to take the 3 little dogs we have for a nice morning walk. During her walk she heard "Pick up your dogs!!!" and when she turned around another large breed dog, off leash, attacked. It got Chole around the neck for about 20 or 30 seconds until the owner got her dog off mine. A neighbor came and got me and I ran out to see my little girl in the middle of the road bleeding out. I picked her up and we ran her to the vet. She couldn't move during the entire ride and I knew it was bad. Vet took x-rays and they looked even worse. She had two vertebra that were broken and pushed way out of alignment form the spine. It was over. I had to say my goodbye's and see my little girl go into her final sleep. (Stab right in the heart).

The stupid ass lady gave my wife a phone number and told her that she was already taking this dog to the pound to be put down because it attacked a small dog the night before. So yeah, take it to a public park and let it run around off leash. Great thinking you dumb bitch.

Well long story short, her number was a pre-paid cell phone. She talked to us once on the phone and replied to one text saying "Sorry about your dog. I'll call you when I get back to town". Last we heard from her. Number is disconnected now. Nobody got a license plate number who helped my wife and my wife was in shock from seeing her dog laying in the middle of the road bleeding out everywhere she didn't think to get it either. By the time I got there the lady had bolted. The lady was full of shit because it was 8am when this happened and the pound didn't open until 11am. Also talked to Animal control later, no dogs of the description were put down at any pound during that weekend. Cops/Animal control can't help without a plate number. Can't find the ladies info online and have had many people look. Got stuck with a large vet bill for them to tell my my dog has to be put down. My wife is traumatized from seeing this happen. I'm heart broken and so pissed off that this bitch just left and screwed us over. Our dog is dead because she's too fucking stupid to put her dog on a leash. Especially the fact that she knows it's vicious. I fucking hate people so god damn much.

RIP little Chloe. You'll be greatly missed. Go wag your tail with your brother. I'll see you on the other side.

Devastating. I'm very sorry for you. Can't imagine having to go through something like that. What kind of dog attacked her?

Damn my allergies tonight. Such a needless loss. Hope you guys can come to grips with this.

Can you file a report with the police? Unless she left town permanently, I bet her and the dog show up again

    RIP Chloe

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
I'm so sorry to hear this. I wish you and your wife can overcome and heal from this. There are ignorant people every where, but I hope you are able to find this woman and make her accept the responsibility for her dog. Either way, this is very painful, and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife.

Holy fuck. Sorry to hear. That's the most difficult thing I read on here ever. Glad you are more composed of a person than me. I feel like I would have ended that womans or that dogs life and it would have been the wrong decision. Hope you feel better

That's awful. I hope you're able to track her down and guilt her into at least assisting with the veterinary bill. I can't speak for anyone else, but if she were a friend of mine, I'd rat her out in a second.

It doesn't seem like the dog broke away from a leash or anything like that. It is not at all reasonable for anyone to think anyone could pick up 3 dogs in a matter of seconds, no matter how small those dogs are.

    My condolences, RIP Chole.

I've experienced the aggressive dog thing twice. It's not pleasant. What's so awful is these owners rarely admit they cannot control their dogs and act as if you're to blame.

I'm sorry you had to witness that and I'm sorry you lost your dog that way.
