I like the blacked out look... But I have a black truck. Matte black emblems look good on it. Just my opinion though.

Are the stock emblems just attached by adhesive? If so, what's the best form for removal that won't mess with paint? Heat guns get way too damn hot for me to even think of trying it, hairdryer and pry as ya go? And if so, to remove any remaining adhesive what would be your cleaner of choice because I'd also imagine a rubbing alcohol scrub can't be good on the paint.

Hair dryer and get dental floss to cut adhesive behind it, go slow

This. I used my wife's hair dryer and it took a good little while for each emblem. I found that heating up 1/3 of the emblem at a time worked best. Heat, run the dental floss behind it, then repeat for each part.

99 bucks for those little plastic pieces?

    That's insane!!

I got a couple different sets... Im going to put the 4x4 ones on my lawnmower for giggles... But if you need a couple tacoma badges and a v6 badge hit me up on PM... Pay shipping and they are free for ya bro. Practice on em, if they turn out good use em, if not, you didnt waste much...

I also got 2 air dams, 3 front license plate brackets, a stock exhaust, and toyota center hub caps... Just collecting dust if anyone is in need of something...

Fishing line works wonders too... That little 6lb test mono line breaks but my spiderwire gets the job done excellently!

I have never used any type of heat source and have debadged 3 third gens without issue just using fishing line.

Used wife's hairdryer to warm up badge/adhesive, then used braided fishing line to "cut" it off. WD-40 for any residue clean up.

If you're going to add new badges, make sure to tape line underneath and on at least one side of the original badges, before removing them... So you know where the new ones go.

Just a couple items yesterday, more to do today. Tailgate theft mod, voice recognition training, setup the Bluetooth, and set up my phone mount. Glass of crown for scale (the last of it unfortunately:() [IMG]

I'm sorry for your loss. Let's all take a moment and mourn that wonderful dark creation!

I can't go running out of crown... In fact i got these locked up and hidden in my shop... So the wife don't find em lol

That clear bottle has 176 proof white lightening in it... We call it Recoil, and it kicks like a .30-06 with 200 grain rounds.

That moonshine sounds awesome, not sure where I'd find some nearby. I'm not too torn up about the crown, this just gives me an excuse to pick up some Johnnie, I've had a hankering for scotch. And I've got a friend who's never had good scotch I'm gonna visit this weekend, he's a bourbon guy so I think we'll do some trading. Booze is meant to be shared, after all. Gotta finish some more mods today before I get drunk though!

My Grandfather always told me alcohol is to sell. Glad he was still around when I quit drinking that slop 17 years ago.
